Darlington Farmers Auction Mart held a sale of prime lambs and cast sheep on Sunday 28th December 2025. Forward were 1924 head.

277 Cast Sheep sold to £200

Prime Lambs (1647) – The lambs remain very comparable to the previous December weeks however with some large shows presented elsewhere during the past couple of days there was no extra special Christmas bonuses to be had. All in, weighed straight the sale averaged 313.5ppk and £148.67 with an SQQ average of 330ppk. Top per kilo at 402 pence was an excellent 46kg Texel from K Hall, North Farm, West Butsfield; the tidiest lambs traded typically 360-400ppk. Top gross value went to Double O Livestock, Bridge House Farm with a smart Blue Texel weighing 49kg and selling for £196 (400ppk).

Cast Sheep (276) – Ewes continue in good order to see a sale average of £119.69 with one third offered horned ewes and another third Mules. Two vendors reached £200 as our top tup from CH Tindale, 18 Aged Miners joined a pair of cracking ewes from Winsbury Farm Partners. Herdwick’s to £120 from Winsbury again, Cheviot ewes sold to £176 from M Robinson & Sons, East Alwent, Mule ewes topped at £158 for eleven strong girls from R D & D Elders, High Farm whilst the horned ewes topped at £114 from DA Gill, Marwood Grange.
