Cast cow trade remained buoyant despite a plainer show of cattle forward. The well fleshed types saw the premium and are still adding up very well. Top Price of today went to P Weightman & Sons, Hallfield Farm, with two tremendous British Blonde cows reaching £3337 and £3228. Following was WJ&AS Bowes & Sons, Stainton Hill House Farm, with a limousin cow making £2755. Native breeds also achieving high figures with Shorthorns reaching £2363 from G Te-Lintelo, Mayfield Shorthorns, and £2309 from PT Stephenson & Son, Moorhen Farm.

Store Cattle-
This week showed reduced bull numbers forward but those that sent them were well rewarded. Top of the tree was JW&RM Suddes, Towdy Potts, with two shapely Limousin bulls reaching £2600 and £2180 respectively. Following was an Aberdeen Angus bull, making £2110 from D Walker, High Woodifield Farm.
Store Cattle remained a similar trade compared to late, in line with the current demand. Top price of today went to WO Grix & Partners, Hillhead Farm, topping at £2300 with an average of £2283 for a trio of Limousin Heifers. Following this was PT Stephenson & Son, Moorhen Farm, with a fine simmental achieving £2200. A terrific run of cattle from CH&MC Phalp, Aireyholme Farm, reached heights of £2160 for a homebred Limousin Steer and heifers from the same home making £2080.

Todays trade saw store sheep dearer, up by £10 on the week and a sale average of £109. Top price of the day went to M Radford, Wyville Grange, with a superb Texel lamb, reaching £146. Next in the leaderboard was A Martin & Co, Brandon House Farm, with run of Texel lambs making £143. Mules topped at £142 from TE Dobson, Unthank Farm, whilst Suffolks topped at £132 from B Cave, Whitehall Farm Cottage. NG Beveridge reached heights of £136 with a super run of Beltex lambs and EW Holmes, Hetherick Grange, topped the continental bred lambs at £129.
