Cast Cows- On paper slightly easier on the week however a slightly lesser show of cattle on offer with more feeding cows and dairy bred animals mixed amongst the averages just pulling it down a peg or two. However all things said another very respectable average of 181ppk, which saw the days bother top pence per kilo and pounds per head go to the same stable of KO Stones, Nun Cote Nook with cows to 252ppk and £1765, with another from the same good home to £1660. Huges Brothers not to be out done saw highs of £1675, with others from the same good home to £1638. JF Harland to £1581 and J Norman to £1574. As mentioned best of the cows topped by the Stones of Nun Cote Nook at 252ppk with others to 236ppk. Huges brothers not to be out done saw highs of 238ppk. M W Reed and D Walker topping at 224ppk while I R Appleton hit tops of 208ppk. Best of the cows still either side of £2/kg. Cows can be sold to vendors advantage weekly.

Store and Breeding Cattle – First through the ring as ever the stirks and breeding cattle. Stirks topped for I Oliver at £470, close behind and seeing another grand trade were J W Teward & Sons with cow and calf outfits away to a top of £1700, while others saw £1100, for older cows. In calf cows topped at £980. Moving onto the store cattle which saw another strong trade for a similar show of numbers however a different show of quality to the previous week. A very typical mid July show of store cattle on offer with something for everyone, short keep cattle all the way through to the very long term keep cattle. Pick of the day a Limousin heifer from Huges Brothers selling away to £1820 with a Blue sired heifer from the same home to £1690. B Needham saw their to sell away to highs of £1695 with others from the same selling to £1585 and £1515. A tremendous run of britihs blue sired bullocks from KB & S Roche saw highs of £1590 while F Ward top with a Limousin steer at £1510. A super pair of heifers from W A Wardman Ltd seeing highs of £1480 with others to £1460.
Pick of the feeding bulls came from I R Appleton, with a super run of bulls to top at £1560, with others from the same home to £1400, £1380 and £1375. Wilkinson & Son saw their blue sired bulls away to £1115 with others to £1000 while W S I Anderson hit a top of £1080. All classes of store cattle can be sold to vendors advantage weekly and are met with a ring side full of buyers.

The feeding sheep and store pig report are combined this week, with nothing to big to squeal about however, numbers short but trade remaining good. Feeding sheep away to £120 for JA & UM Fawcett. While the store pigs are topped by C Weightman with a pair of gilts to £170 with others to £150.
