Darlington Farmers Auction Mart were privileged to carry out the retirement sale of D Armstrong Ltd, High Hazelwell Farm, Woodland on Saturday 15th April 2023. A monumental amount of people assembled in an uncharacteristically bustling Woodland to support the well-earned retirement of David and Alison Armstrong; no doubt that the size of the crowd was testament to the tremendous service provided by the well-respected firm of agricultural engineers over the past forty years.
An astonishing 110 buyers secured winning bids, between them sharing the 300 lots on offer, due to the immense crowd many bidders left empty handed however their contribution was certainly much appreciated. Naturally County Durham provided the lions share of buyers with neighbouring Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland all very active; the farthest flung buyer would in normal circumstances have been the visitors down from Aberdeenshire was it not for an overseas buyer all the way from Pearland, Texas.
