Darlington Farmers Auction Mart held their Summer collective sale of tractors, implements and machinery incorporating a special sale of vintage tractors and machinery on Saturday 20th July 2024.
A warm day attracted a healthy sized crowd however it was noticeable that the farming fraternity with grass or grain to gather were understandably absent given the recent inclement weather. Trade proved brisk for all goods with a superb 90% clearance throughout and excluding the vehicles and the small tools the field items cleared at a DfAM record 94%. Noticeable premiums were achieved on any fencing, gardening or groundwork items whilst the tidier end of the farm implements also exceeded expectations.
Top priced vehicle of the day was a tidy 21-year-old New Holland TM155 showing 13,000 hours which sold for £16,000. A JPM dump trailer led the field items at £12,000. The nineteen vintage tractors were headed by a beautifully restored Ford 3000 which sold for £6300. A Herbst low loader trailer impressed at £6100 followed by a John Deere compact loader tractor at £6000 whilst an Ifor Williams 610 horse trailer sold for £5800.
A super 685 lots were auctioned on the day heading home with 165 different buyers.
Next sale Saturday 12th October.
