Store Sheep – Another good number, average prices similar but a noticeable tightening from top to bottom as the bigger lambs look easier but the smaller sorts were noticeably dearer. Strong Texel lambs from S & J Dent & Son led the way when selling at £125, several others followed beyond £100 however it was an army in the £85-£95 region which ensured the healthy sale average of £82.91. Some 310 Mule lambs were included today with a breed average of £81, the top pen proved to be a ring full of eighty-seven stretchy sorts from J Skidmore & Co Ltd, Red House Farm selling for £87.50. Feeding ewes remain easily sold with plenty of the strong sorts over £100, Mule’s over £80 and Swaledale’s in the £25-£35 bracket.
