Store & Breeding Cattle – Numbers slightly depleted from the original catalogued entry as the catchy weather ensures that the ongoing grass harvest takes priority. Those forward found trade every bit as good as it has been, arguably more life in the strongest end. A handful of breeders kicked proceedings off in good order, none more so than three excellent four- and five-year-old in calf cows from Forster Hall & Sons, Butsfield which all sold over £2000. A largely dairy inspired show of young bulls followed, one smart suckler sort stood out when an 11-month-old Limousin from BR Lawson, Buddle House led the way selling for £1880. Store cattle prices topped at a marvellous £2290 which was achieved by an excellent 26-month-old Beef Shorthorn heifer from DR Smith, East Roughlea. Store steers topped twice at £2180, on both occasions strong Limousin’s from WO Grix & Partners were responsible. Next in line at £2160 and £2130  were a couple of cracking Limousin heifers from RL Walker, East Highwood as the strong end continue to trade £1800 to £2200.
