Cast Cattle & OTM – The average again this week was 120 pence per kilo, as we have witnessed of late those carrying flesh and the younger cows are very easily sold however some of the older ladies showing less resistance to the autumnal conditions are somewhat less desirable. Top of the sale was a beautiful 3 year old Limousin heifer from G H Farms, Grange Hill Farm when she sold for an impressive 208 pence per kilo, the top gross value headed back to Northumberland to the renowned Swarland Herd of A & D Proctor with a marvellous 5 year old Limousin cow selling for £1622. A smart Limousin from E Scott & Sons. Middridge Grange led the bull trade at 150 pence per kilo whilst the top gross valued bull at £1429 came from A S & S M Kemp, Whitwell Farm with a heavyweight Simmental. Both flesh and youth were on the side of our leading dairy cow as a wonderful 34 month old Friesian from W E & C A Anderson, Caldwell sold for a very healthy 166 pence per kilo and £1153.
