Cast Cattle – Another good entry of cast cattle and once again a sharp trade throughout, todays average of just over 135ppk included 30 dairy cows and native breeds. The top priced cast beast today was worthy of leading any sale, a fabulous 4 year old Limousin Bull from J&B Luck, Milestone House, weighing in at 909kg he went on to sell for 208 pence per kilo and racked up a mighty gross value of £1890. It took a smart youngster to better him, a lovely 33 month Limousin from GK KN & GJ Hird, Meadow View, Richmond reaching a whopping 216ppk adding up to a tasty £1222. Wilsons, Throstlenest, Lanchester & JR&M Richardson, Etherley House would be the pick of the rest with averages of £178ppk & £1361 and 186ppk & £1409 respectively for their wonderful Limousins .  With over a third of the cows forward today being either Holstein Friesians or Natives the overall average looks even more impressive. JM Ramsay & Son, The Grange, Scorton was top of the Black & Whites with a 53 month old Friesian weighing in at 904kg selling for 128ppk and realising £1157.
